Shamwow?

Ok, so I watched Obama's half hour variety show last night, and I walked away feeling, to put it mildly, like I feel when I watch those infomercials when I can't sleep about making zillions of $$$. Well, looks like my feeling was correct. Here is an AP article about his ad...and below are the excerpts from it

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was less than upfront in his half-hour commercial Wednesday night about the costs of his programs and the crushing budget pressures he would face in office.
Obama's assertion that "I've offered spending cuts above and beyond" the expense of his promises is accepted only by his partisans. His vow to save money by "eliminating programs that don't work" masks his failure throughout the campaign to specify what those programs are — beyond the withdrawal of troops from Iraq.
A sampling of what voters heard in the ad, and what he didn't tell them:
THE SPIN: "That's why my health care plan includes improving information technology, requires coverage for preventive care and pre-existing conditions and lowers health care costs for the typical family by $2,500 a year."
THE FACTS: His plan does not lower premiums by $2,500, or any set amount. Obama hopes that by spending $50 billion over five years on electronic medical records and by improving access to proven disease management programs, among other steps, consumers will end up saving money. He uses an optimistic analysis to suggest cost reductions in national health care spending could amount to the equivalent of $2,500 for a family of four. Many economists are skeptical those savings can be achieved, but even if they are, it's not a certainty that every dollar would be passed on to consumers in the form of lower premiums.
___
THE SPIN: "I've offered spending cuts above and beyond their cost."
THE FACTS: Independent analysts say Obama would deepen the deficit. The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates Obama's policy proposals would add a net $428 billion to the deficit over four years — and that analysis accepts the savings he claims from spending cuts. The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, whose other findings have been quoted approvingly by the Obama campaign, says: "... Barack Obama have proposed tax plans that would substantially increase the national debt over the next 10 years."

___
THE SPIN: "Here's what I'll do. Cut taxes for every working family making less than $200,000 a year. Give businesses a tax credit for every new employee that they hire right here in the U.S. over the next two years and eliminate tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. Help homeowners who are making a good faith effort to pay their mortgages, by freezing foreclosures for 90 days. And just like after 9-11, we'll provide low-cost loans to help small businesses pay their workers and keep their doors open. "
THE FACTS: His proposals — the tax cuts, the low-cost loans, the $15 billion a year he promises for alternative energy, and more — cost money, and the country could be facing a record $1 trillion deficit next year.

Obama Devoid of Accomplishments

The guys at morning Joe just decimating an Obama supporter on trying to give him any accomplishments that people can pin him on. You decide if the guy gives a good response.

A Call to Battle

I have been waiting for John McCain to fire me up. Well, here he finally does. Now let's go win this election!

I am Joe Part Deux

Redneck Sarah?

On a blog that is done by a friend of my wife, she just posted on her blog that she thought Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks shouldn't back down from her views and is a hero for speaking out. We could debate for days the difference between government censorship and the consumers of country music just being upset that the Dixie Chicks were being derogatory to the POTUS outside of our country during a time of war and just decided not to buy their albums anymore.

But what really got to me was a quote she has with it from Gloria Steinem..."Any woman who chooses to behave like a full human being should be warned that the armies of the status quo will treat her as something of a dirty joke. That's their natural and first weapon. She will need her sisterhood."

The thing that amazes me about that quote is that my wife's friend is the first person to deride Sarah Palin. Is that hypocritical? You be the judge. But with that being said, here is a video about the woman that will be the next VPOTUS.

Obama's tax plan

Here is an article by Paul Krugman (as far from a Conservative as you can get) talking about how Obama's tax plan doesn't effect just people making $250,000. It is now down to $182,000.

Here is how Krugman describes it:

"What about the claim, based on Joe the Plumber’s complaint, that ordinary working Americans would face higher taxes under Mr. Obama? Well, Mr. Obama proposes raising rates on only the top two income tax brackets — and the second-highest bracket for a head of household starts at an income, after deductions, of $182,400 a year."

Uncle Tom?

You tell me. I find his argument to completely dismantle any argument for liberalism.

Socialist or Communist?

After listening to this, you will at the very least come away with the fact that Obama is at best a socialist and at worst a communist. I'll ask this question again....How is anyone voting for this guy???

UPDATE- Here is a great article dissecting the interview

More on Media Bias

If you read this article and don't think that the main-stream media is in the tank for NObama, you have drank some serious kool-aid.

Glenn Beck being funny

A VERY scary story

Here it is

Here's what we get if Obama wins

Here's a great interview with Barney Frank (maybe the single greatest cause of our financial crisis) describing what he invisions his priorities. There's a couple things that stand out to me...

1) Rep. Frank, D-Mass., also called for a 25 percent cut in military spending . Yep, that worked under Clinton, right? Oh that's right, it left us severely under-prepared for global conflict.

2) "And, ultimately, there will be tax increases on the upper brackets. "We'll have to raise taxes ultimately. Not now, but eventually," he said." - Remember, Joe Biden said it was Patriotic!

More on Gay Marriage and CA Prop 8

So my wife, two of her good friends and I have been having a debate on this subject. Her left leaning friend talks about how will gay marriage affect me and my family or how does it lessen my marriage. Well, other than the things that I have already covered in a prior post, my wife found this great website. There is a lot there, but here are a response to her friend.

1) Children in public schools will have to be taught that same-sex marriage is just as good as traditional marriage.
The California Education Code already requires that health education classes instruct children about marriage. (§51890)
Therefore, unless Proposition 8 passes, children will be taught that marriage between any two adults is of the same worth, regardless of gender. There will be serious clashes between the secular school system and the right of parents to teach their children their own values and beliefs.

2) Churches may be sued over their tax exempt status if they refuse to allow same-sex marriage ceremonies in their religious buildings open to the public.
Ask whether your pastor, priest, minister, bishop, or rabbi is ready to perform such marriages in your chapels and sanctuaries. (So isn't this infringing on my freedom of religion?)

3) Religious adoption agencies will be challenged by government agencies to give up their long-held right to place children only in homes with both a mother and a father.
Catholic Charities in Boston already had to stop providing adoption services in Massachusetts because courts legalized same-sex marriage there.

4) Religions that sponsor private schools with married student housing may be required to provide housing for same-sex couples, even if counter to church doctrine, or risk lawsuits over tax exemptions and related benefits.

5) Ministers who preach against same-sex marriages may be sued for hate speech and risk government fines.
It already happened in Canada, a country that legalized gay marriage. A recent California court held that municipal employees may not say: "traditional marriage," or "family values" because, after the same-sex marriage case, it is "hate speech."

6) It will cost you money.
This change in the definition of marriage will bring a cascade of lawsuits, including some already lost (e.g., photographers cannot now refuse to photograph gay marriages; doctors cannot now refuse to perform artificial insemination of gays even given other willing doctors). Even if courts eventually find in favor of a defender of traditional marriage (highly improbable given today's activist judges), think of the money – your money – that will be spent on such legal battles.

Happiness is being Conservative

This article proves what I have been telling my liberal friends my whole life. Now there's proof!

Just Look

The picture is an untouched photograph of a being that has been within its mother for 20 weeks. Please do me the favor of looking at it carefully.

Have you any doubt that it is a human being?

If you do not have any such doubt, have you any doubt that it is an innocent human being?

If you have no doubt about this either, have you any doubt that the authorities in a civilized society are duty-bound to protect this innocent human being if anyone were to wish to kill it?

If your answer to this last query is negative, that is, if you have no doubt that the authorities in a civilized society would be duty-bound to protect this innocent human being if someone were to wish to kill it, I would suggest—even insist—that there is not a lot more to be said about the issue of abortion in our society. It is wrong, and it cannot—must not—be tolerated.

Who does Obama sound like?

Listen to the audio and tell me who you think he sounds like. To me, it sounds like his Pastor, Jeremiah Wright and his Black Separatist Theology. Listen closely to all of the things he says.

Obama admits his Redistribution of Wealth is to SAVE the African American community SO HE CAN ENSURE HIS OWN SALVATION! (and Our Countries Salvation) He compares the plight of African Americans to the ethic genocide’s of Bosnia and Africa. He blames all of African American’s problems on “ONE GROUP” who suppresses them. And He says WHITE people don’t want their taxes to help black children.

Do the American people really want this guy to be President?

I Am Joe

Answer's about Obama's Health Plan

A very interesting article on NObama's somewhat socialized medicine plan. A couple of things in the article stand out to me.

1) Q: Will I pay more or less for health insurance? Community rating will increase premiums for the young and healthy in order to cross-subsidize those who are older and sicker. Sen. Obama has also promised that his plan would reduce premiums by increasing the use of electronic medical records, cutting administrative costs, and emphasizing preventive care, but most experts believe those projected savings are highly speculative and unlikely to be seen for many years - if ever.

2) Q: Will I be able to keep the insurance coverage I have now? if you have an insurance policy that you are happy with today, but it does not match the type of plan that Sen. Obama thinks you should have, then you will have to switch plans, even if the new plan costs more.

3) Q: Will his plan raise taxes? Almost certainly

How does anybody fall for this?

In Defense of the "Rich".

So my Brother, who may be more Conservative than me (maybe) just sent me this article. It is such a rebuke of Obama's tax plan that it's remarkable. Something else that will be hard for liberals to swallow...it is written by a Conservative Black Man! The "open thinkers" on the left will surely denounce him as an "Uncle Tom" or something creative like that.

Rights

Why is it that people on the left are always concerned about rights until it's something they disagree with? Why do my religious rights need to be infringed upon because they disagree with me? Why are the rights of the unborn less important than the Mother's? Why will they always complain that their free speech is being stopped but then want to impose speech impediments (pun intended) to talk radio? Why is it ok to not have racist policies against minorities and then impose racism on whites (ie Affirmative Action)?

Can someone help me out on this?

What if "SNL" mocked Michelle Obama?

Here is a great article by Pat Buchanan on this.

Man-Made Global Warming?

Here is a documentary that was produced in England that thoroughly debunks much of the "science" used by Algore to push his agenda. There are eight clips about ten minutes each, so take your time. Now you'll have some good info to fight your "green" friends with.

Newt Gingrich getting it right

Newt knocks it out of the park in both clips

Who we're dealing with...

When you start to get a little down because you just read some poll figures, please just watch these videos and realize who we're dealing with. I promise that it will always perk you up! The last two are my favorite!

The Audacity of Nope

Here is a great song about Obama.

Does increasing taxes increase tax revenue?

Here are couple of good videos for those of you in favor of "taxing the rich".

Who caused the Fannie/Freddie mess?

These two videos may help you to figure it out...

Jonah Goldberg

Here is one of my favorite Conservative thinkers, Jonah Goldberg on another of my favorites, Glenn Beck, discussing Government...

1961- Ronald Reagan

Here is Ronald Reagan in 1961 discussing socialized medicine. What do you think what he would think of Obama's plan?

C.S. Lewis Quote

One of my favorite writers-Jonah Goldberg- just posted this quote over at NRO. I thought it was appropriate to think about...

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

Where's the ACLU now?

The liberals in Congress always talk about not infringing on personal freedoms. But if you ever look into that claim, you'll see that it's only the freedoms they find important. But take this liberal genius. What ever happened to Freedom of Speech?

More Media Bias...

Here is a study on Presidential Coverage. You tell me if it's equal?

Gay Marriage and Prop 8 in California

Well, I know this is a touchy subject and I am going to be as delicate as I can with this topic. But I feel that this is one that needs to be discussed. As a person who believes that all have equal rights, I have thought long and hard with how I balance that with my religious views on the topic. So I am going to attempt to get all of viewpoints out (hopefully with all due respect) and see where it leads us. But first I want to let it be known that I do not wish any ill will on hetero or homo. We are all children of a loving Creator, and you are all my Brother's and Sister's in Him.

My religious viewpoint on homosexuality- This is my personal views and not necessarily what I believe we should do legally. I believe that homosexuality is a sin. There is not much more to expound on that. It's pretty simple and clear in any scripture that you read. Any other viewpoint on it or trying to justify that sin is meaningless in regards to religion. That being said, I do believe in personal freedoms, and if that is what two consenting adults wish to do (within the law), I cannot stop them. Just because I feel that it is a sin, does not mean that I do not love them it just means that I can't condone the sin. I believe that God loves all of His children and because he does, I do as well without judgement.

My religious viewpoint on marriage- I believe that marriage is ordained by our Creator. That it's sole purpose is to bind one man and one woman in His eyes so that we do not sin in the attempt to procreate. I believe that history will show that is what exactly was set up in ancient times. I do not believe that it is just a Christian or Abrahamic based, but you will see it in the Eastern Faiths and in Ancient Greece. What other purpose could there possibly be for it? What purpose would a homosexual couple need of "marriage" since it is physically impossible for them to procreate?

My legal viewpoint on gay marriage- Since the institution of marriage was and is a religious institution, I do believe that this falls under the Freedom of Religion parameters of the constitution. And because of that, I believe that people of Faith should be the ones to define it. Therefore, I do not believe that gay marriage should be allowed. But, being a constitutionalist does allow me some perspective on this. If a homosexual couple would wish to share in the same rights and privileges of married couples, wouldn't an easy compromise be to call it a "union" for same sex couples? They would not be lacking in anything and the argument of not having the same rights would no longer be available.

Now I know what same sex couples are going to say. That what I propose keeps them outcasted. I do not believe that their argument helps anything. The Faithful will always feel that homosexuality is a sin and never condone it. So, how does imposing the term "marriage" on to same sex unions get them acceptance? All it does is continue to polarize us. And if their argument continues into "why are you imposing your religion on me?"- here is my answer. The same reason why we can not allow for polygamous marriages or allowing a 14 year old to have sex with a 35 year old. Because the basis for our laws was in our Founders Judeo-Christian beliefs. Our laws are based in religious morality. If you wish to debate that, please feel free. I have enough web links for you about writings on this subject by our Founder's to keep you busy for at least a month.

Again, I have nothing but love for all races, creeds and religions.

UPDATE- For those of you who don't think this will affect me or my family, here is proof that you are incorrect. There is an agenda here.

Media Bias?

Here is a great article that sums up exactly how I feel about the media.

Eloquent Speaker?

Not so much without the teleprompter. Take a look here, or here, or here, or here, or here and here.

Tony Rezko- RNC Video

Here is a great video pointing out another of Obama's past friends that he now denounces (just like Ayers and Wright).

Funny Pictures

I think the pictures say it all...

Presidential Polls

Don't believe them. Just remember that in 2000 and 2004, Algore and John Heinz-Kerry were way ahead as well at this point and we know how those turned out. Trust me, the next two weeks will truly expose NObama for what he really is, a socialist. He just wants to "spread the wealth around". Am I the only one this frightens?

When the undecided voters actually begin to look into him, usually happens the last 3-5days of the campaigns, they will begin to see some scary things. Like all of his mentors in his life are either Socialists, domestics terrorists, black separatists or crooks and that he is just a regular old politician. They'll realize that all of his talk about change comes straight from Saul Alinsky, a communist (and community organizer, LOL). They'll actually realize that he has no resume or experience to hang an opinion of him on and realize that he may be all rhetoric. They'll look into his voting record and figure out that he is the most liberal in the Senate. They'll realize that, unlike his wife Michelle, they have always been proud of their country. They'll realize that their is just too many questions about his past that are unclear and no amount of auto-biographies that he writes will answer the real questions about him. They'll realize that they can't let a liberal President appoint more liberals to the Supreme Court. They'll realize that Barack Hussein Obama is not the man for the job.

Now, some liberals may read this blog and have questions that I am a racist or a bigot. I am none of these. I love people of all race, colors or creeds. We are all sons and daughters of a loving God. Please, oh please, remember that Martin Luther King Jr was a Republican. I would gladly vote for person of color for President. As long as said person was a Conservative. Condoleeza Rice, JC Watts or Michael Steele would be just great! But once Sarah Palin is elected VP and breaks that barrier, she will then have to be the next President and break that barrier!. Then, JC or Condie or Michael can get elected. And all will be right in the world.

UPDATE- According to the newest AP poll, the race is all even. Here is the link

UPDATE #2- Here is another poll. They happened to be the most accurate of the polls in the 2004 elections. So, buck up little camper. All is well.

Stud

I would be remiss if I did not begin my blog with the guy who inspired me to be conservative. Ronald Wilson Reagan (Ronaldus Maximus for those in the know) was quite possibly the greatest President of the last 100+ years. His strength, kindness, humility, intelligence and charisma helped keep the USA exactly as he said- "That shining city on the hill." He was always able to convey conservative thought in ways that the average person could not help but be drawn to. He single handedly ended the Soviet Union as we know it. He proved that Conservatism is the only way to help this country prosper. Once government gets in the way, he knew that it was difficult to correct the mistakes that it caused. He knew that free markets and less government would always be the best way to preserve our personal freedoms.

Ronald Reagan is an American Hero. There should be a monument made for him. The world is a lesser place with him not in it. I know that he is now in a place, serving his God once again, and still making everyone smile.
